Gungahlin Veterinary Hospital is my first place of employment since graduating from Sydney University in 2009.

I've seen a lot in my first year and a half - the good, the bad and the ugly (or stinky) sides of small animal practice and am looking forward to many, many more years.

I find surgery and medicine to be equally challenging and enjoyable. Becoming more skilled at a surgery or learning something new; working through a difficult medical case or seeing an unwell animal recover and go home are some of the most rewarding aspects of my job. Learning more about dog and cat behaviour and understanding how to manage behavioural problems is another interest. On a lighter side, listening to people's animal stories, meeting lots of adorable puppies and kittens and watching funny animal youtube videos (for research purposes) are fun too. I plan to do more study in the future, maybe a course in internal medicine. I adopted two cats from work in my first year- Lemur and Poppy and am resisting the urge to bring home a dog until the time is right.
