Dr Greg Knight
- Position
- Vet
- Been with GVH since
- January, 2006
Greg was raised in Wagga Wagga before heading to Sydney University to study. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1996, worked briefly for the Dept of Agriculture before heading back to Sydney University to study Veterinary Science, graduating with honours in 2002.
He first worked in mixed practice in Braidwood, learning quickly about small and large animal medicine and surgery before heading to the UK in 2005, to work in mixed and small animal practice, and to explore Europe. He returned in early 2007, to locum in NSW and far North Queensland before accepting a job at the Gungahlin Vet Hospital.
Greg has particular interests in surgery and diagnostic imaging. He has regrettably left the world of cattle medicine and surgery behind, though does not miss the hillside calvings and the many freezing after hours farm visits.
Greg lived in France for a year in his teens, and was once a fluent French speaker (now a rusty French speaker). He is a confirmed rugby tragic, supporting Sydney University, the NSW Waratahs (though he is slowly coming around to the Brumbies) and, of course, the Wallabies. In his spare time he enjoys golf, skiing, the cinema and occasionally spending time with his fiancé, Seonaid. Having just bought a house, he is currently dog proofing in anticipation of a large menagerie.
