My name is Claire and I am the head veterinary nurse here at Gungahlin Veterinary Hospital.
I am a senior Veterinary Nurse with over 16 years experience in the industry. I started my career at Jimboomba Veterinary Surgery in South East Queensland upon leaving school in 1996. Since then I ve gained a wealth of experience and qualifications in all facets of animal care including nutrition, surgery, radiology, behaviour and recovery care. Just ask me a question and I am sure I ll know something about it!
My best mate, Champion, is a 26 year old stock horse and together we spent many years competing in events such as showjumping, eventing, sporting and endurance. We were both well known on the pony club circuit in our younger days and were the top pair to beat at any event! Now Champ and I share our time with Slim, a Quarter Horse X and Chase, a young brumby gelding. Oh, and my fiance Scott who gets a mention every now and then.
My passion for the feline species is well supported by my collection of cats - Winnie, Rooster, Timmy, Penny and Ninja all rejects collected from years on the job! They easily outnumber and outwit my dogs, Bruce the Border Collie and Tilly the Kelpie cross!
Queensland born and bred, my home is now Bungendore, though I still support the Toads! I joined Gungahlin Veterinary Hospital towards the end of 2010 and hope that I will be able support our already fantastic team here providing expert nursing care to your pets and ensure you has the best advice possible when it comes to your pet s health.
